Drew is an author staying on an island trying to write. He meets Mordy, who is back after spending twenty years on the road living life as a nomad, traveling around in his camper van. Mordy has found a wreck which together they salvage but they open a whole can of worms, and a mystery to unravel which stretches back through Mordy's family to the Middle Ages. Their relationship is beset by the trials and tribulations as the ghosts of Mordy’s past come to pay a visit. Then it becomes a matter of life or death because someone wants the treasure back!

Love is ... maybe all you can rely on in the end.

The Shell and The Granite Pearl is the single volume which contains the two parts of the story; part one, The Shell & The Granite Pearl and part two, Lately of Sauncy.
